High class covers pressure-retaining, lifting/hoisting, rotating machinery, and primary structural duty — each requires qualified-engineer approval. Prohibited covers medical, flight-critical, weapons, and life-safety uses.

HONEST LIMITS

Honest limits

Daedalus generates structured designs, GD&T, analytical FEA, and machine programs as engineering aids — not a substitute for qualified engineering judgment, shop practice, or regulatory approval.

  • Analytical FEA is a sanity check against yield, not a certification of structural fitness.
  • As-printed additive tolerances are not as-machined ISO 2768 / ASME Y14.5 unless post-machined.
  • G-code and slice programs are machine- and post-specific; transferring them without re-simulation is unsafe.
  • Prohibited classes (medical, flight-critical, weapons, life-safety) are default-blocked — packages never claim fitness for those uses.
  • Machine-ready claims require machine-specific simulation and explicit operator signoff; packages ship with the default disclaimer until both are complete.

Honest by design. FFF (fused-filament) output is a generated machine program, sliced from the printer’s bundled vendor profile, with an estimated print time, filament use, and a per-process manufacturability (DFM) check. CNC G-code is emitted in the selected control’s dialect. As-printed FDM parts do not hold as-machined ISO 2768 / Y14.5 tolerances — the DFM report flags every feature that needs post-machining. Resin (MSLA/SLA) emits a .sl1/.ctb slice package for supported printers via PrusaSlicer + UVtools. Powder and metal processes (SLS, MJF, DMLS, binder-jet) are delivered as a validated build package and process spec for a service bureau, not a runnable machine program. Unsupervised machine execution requires machine-specific simulation and explicit operator signoff.
